Sozo (pronounced sode'-zo) is a beautiful word.
It is the Greek word that Matthew used when he wrote, “And she
shall bring forth a son, and you shall call his name Jesus: for He shall
Sozo (save) His people from their sins. Matthew also writes, “For
the Son of man is come to Sozo (save) that which was lost.” But
what makes Sozo really special is that it is the same word that Mark
used when he quotes a man that came to Jesus and said, “My little
daughter is at the point of death, please come and lay your hands on
her that she may be Sozo (healed)”. And where Matthew writes
about the woman who touched the hem of Jesus garment who
thought to herself, “If I may but touch His garment, I shall be Sozo
(made whole)”.
